Silk Scarf, size 90 x 90 cm. Crêpe Satin 12.5, natural, undyed, 100% silk, 60g/m.
An especially manifold material with two views: in the front the well-known, nicely shining satin look with a glassy surface. The back on the other hand, shimmers matt, similar to Crêpe de Chine. The history of Crêpe Satin is very interesting: it was created as a matt silk crêpe that was supposed to have a smooth surface like lining on the reverse side. Later, the gloss was decided to be more important and the crêpe satin was "turned around". The crêpe satin 12.5 falls softly, is inured to wrinkling and reflects all colors in a bright and luscious way. Its smooth surface almost invites one to painting, dying and printing.
Shawls, scarves, stoles and pareos are especially beautiful when made out of this fabric.
