Advent Wreath - Silvery blue

Be creative and make a different wreath this year.

Traditional advent wreath is made of evergreen plaited in a circle (the symbol of faith and eternity). Four candles represent 4 season and four advent weeks. According to tradition, every week substitutes 1000 years since Adam and Eve till the birth of the saviour, Jesus Christ. Every week a new candle is lit to announce the arrival of light. Three candles are usually purple (the colour of repentance) and a rose one - a candle of joy and happiness. Be creative and make a different one this year. We suggest silvery blue shades.

What do you need?

- a polystyrene ring (25 cm);

- candlesticks in silver shades;

- three silver candles and one blue;

- decorative ribbon with silver stars (about 3 m);

- moss in silver shade (1 little bag);

- various decorations in blue and silver shades (little apples, polystyrene decorations, decorations with glass, blue flowers,...);

- thin wire (about 3 m);

- Granite paint in blue or silver shade;

- brush.

Instructions:

1 Paint the polystyrene with blue or silver "granite" paint. You can wrap the ring with wide silver ribbon or crepe paper if you don't have the paint.

2 Spread the silver moss on the polystyrene and fix with thin wire.

3 Wrap the whole wreath with thin silver ribbon which will additionally fix the moss.

4 Take the candlestick. You will notice a nail on both sides (one is for a candle, the other to be fixed into polystyrene). Cut out little ribbons about 30 cm, make a few hooks and place it on a longer nail.

5 Stick the whole thing into the polystyrene. Place the candles.

6 Decorate the rest of the wreath with various decorations. You can make them yourself: paint smaller polystyrene baubles with Granite paint and decorate them with bits of cinnamon, anise, coloured seeds or bits of mirror.

Finally, wrap the whole wreath with blue stars.

Merry Christmas!
