Country angel

You love country style, don't you? Use softpaper with country prints to make decorations which will remind you of the wooden ones from your granny's trunk.

Material and tools:

  • FIMOair light - light weight modelling clay practical for hanging decorations
  • rolling pin
  • softpaper "Country angels"
  • glue for decoupage technique
  • knife with a sharp top / edge
  • decorative matt paints in motif shades
  • cord or a wire (to hang decorations on)

1 Cut angel from softpaper. The print has the back side of the angel as well so it can be seen from all sides. Roll flat two "sheets" of FIMOair about 5mm thickness.

2 To add a bit more of a relief cut a part of the print with a basket and glue it on one of the sheets and the rest of the angel on the other. Leave the glue to dry.

3 While modelling clay is still soft, gently press the edges. Then, using a knife carefully cut off the rest of the modelling clay.

4 Glue the basket with hearts on the rest of the angel and then carefully cut it out with a sharp knife.

5 Cut holes for hanging.

6 When the modelling clay is dry (left in the open or in a microwave) glue the back side of the angel. Paint the white sides with acrylic paint, the shade of wood. When dry thread cord or wire through the hole.

Extra idea: Use the hearts from the same soft paper, hang them as if they were hanging from a basket and make a welcome sign for your door.
