Vintage Wash Wooden Bead Garland

Make a garland of wooden beads as an on-trend accent with DecoArt Vintage Effect Wash™.

Supplies:
Vintage Effect Wash™: Patina (DCW10)

Other supplies:

paper towels
scissors
craft paintbrushes
wooden dowel rod (optional)
jute
wooden beads (pre-drilled; number of choice)
plastic lid (large, i.e., ice cream bucket)

INSTRUCTIONS

1 Paint the beads with Patina. Wipe back excess paint with a paper towel for a stained look.

2 Use a wooden dowel, if needed, to assist in painting the entire area of the bead. Let dry.

3 Thread the beads with jute.

4 Make jute tassels and tie to the ends.

HELPFUL HINTS

While the beads are drying, it's helpful to have something to gather them in to keep them from rolling away. I used the lid of a plastic ice cream bucket.

If you are having trouble threading the beads on the string, grab a piece of Scotch tape and wrap the ends of the string to create a stiff end.
